A process for putting clients first

As a financial advisor, creating repeatable processes helps you serve your clients and run your business efficiently. At Raymond James, advisors use what we call the Client Experience Process.

In addition to streamlining your business, the four-step system also helps clients understand the value of working with an advisor and sets the foundation for a successful partnership, which aligns with our firm’s commitment to putting people first.

“The components made a lot of sense and can apply to any relationship that you have,” financial advisor Erin K. Bethge, CFP®, CPWA®, says in the video below. “Whether it’s a prospective client, an existing client, or you’re starting to talk to the kids and grandkids of your existing clients.”

The Client Experience Process consists of asking clients four themed questions:

  • Connection: Are we a fit?
  • Clarity: Do you need an advisor?
  • Strategy: What will I do with your money?
  • Communication: How will we stay in touch?

“It’s been something I use every single day,” says Erin, who was introduced to the process in the firm’s Advisor Mastery Program. “It really helps you streamline the conversations you’re having. It’s a wonderful tool.”

The Client Experience Process is one of many techniques new advisors at Raymond James learn in the Advisor Mastery Program, a comprehensive curriculum for gaining the knowledge and skills to establish a career in financial advising.

Through distance and on-site learning, intensive coaching and mentoring, participants in the two-year program learn the advising concepts, business acumen and interpersonal skills they need to be effective advocates for their clients and grow their businesses.
