Mark McCowan, CPA, MBA, CFP® Financial Advisor, RJFS

Mark takes his responsibility as a steward of his clients’ resources seriously. The chance to make a meaningful difference in peoples’ lives is what motivated him to pivot from a career as a CPA to an advisor. He specializes in serving business owners, as his deep background in small business tax and operations allows him to understand the challenges they face, as well as the opportunities available. He also provides tax-efficient investing strategies to individuals and families. Seeing a plan come together for a client is what motivates Mark as he develops strategies to address both the planned and unplanned events in life.

He joined Wilson Bank & Trust Investment Services, aligned with Raymond James Financial Services, in 2019. Before that, he spent two years at HD Vest Investment Services and became a Certified Public Accountant in 2013. Mark earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and an MBA from Tennessee Technological University. He holds Series 6, 7 and 63 licenses.

Mark stays connected to the community as vice president of the Tennessee Society of CPAs, Upper Cumberland Chapter. He has also served as a volunteer T-ball and softball coach for the Algood Baseball League.

He has deep roots in Cookeville, where he resides with his wife, Lauren, and their four daughters, Lily, Kailee, Elin and Isla. In his free time, Mark enjoys running, hunting and golfing.
